Libertyville was established in 1827 and incorporated in 1882. The Village of Libertyville is located about 30 miles north of Chicago. Originally called Independence Grove, this beautiful community is home to more than 20,000 residents who appreciate their town’s rich history and continuing progress.
Thanks to Libertyville’s location, outdoor recreation is abundantly available. The nearby Des Plaines River is excellent for fishing and swimming.
